5 Venues Near Asheville With Beautiful Views

Hey, sometimes hiking in the mountains with bugs, heat, possible rain, etc is no fun for some! That’s OK! There are plenty of options for you if hiking to a destination isn’t your thing!

In this post, we’ll talk about some venues around WNC and things to consider if you’re wondering if a mountaintop elopement is right for you. The venues I will mention have mountain views without the hike, and some of them will be closer to town so you can enjoy everything downtown Asheville has to offer! Also, these venues are LGBTQ+ inclusive and if you’ve been following me, you know how important that is to me!

First, here are some things you should consider if you’re planning a mountaintop/wilderness ceremony:

Will family members be attending?

Are your family members (or even friends) able to hike to the destination? If not, maybe consider either booking a venue or a ceremony location with a very easy hike.

Do YOU enjoy hiking?

If not, chances are, you might be miserable trying to have your ceremony in a more remote location. If you’re still wanting those mountain views, there are places with an easier hike/walk. Or, keep reading to see my venue suggestions!

Will rain or colder weather ruin your experience?

The Blue Ridge Mountains are MOODY in the higher elevations. It’s often foggy, damp, and much colder than the valley where Asheville, NC lies. Weather changes fast in the mountains so it’s important to consider how weather could affect your experience. If you’re prepared for bad weather conditions, it makes it so much better! However, if cold and rain sounds like a nightmare for you, I would recommend having a back-up plan or booking a venue.

If any of these questions bring up concern for you, here are some venues to consider if you still want an outdoorsy ceremony without the need for hiking boots!
